Drs' Rick and Katherine Ferguson are a husband and wife dental team that are committed to providing the best quality dentistry in a safe comfortable environment. We provide comprehensive dental examinations that include oral cancer screening, periodontal disease detection, and TMJ disorder screening along with our routine dental examinations. Our services are always in a quiet, confidential atmosphere. We educate our patients in all aspects of their care and welcome any questions and/or concerns you might have.
Rick Ferguson DMD, ABOI, DICOI
Dr. Rick Ferguson graduated from Dental School at the University of Florida in 1993. He completed a General Practice Residency at University of Miami Jackson Memorial Hospital. Dr. Ferguson is an Adjunct Professor at the University of Florida College of Dentistry and has the distinction of being awarded Diplomate status with the American Board of Oral Implantology, Diplomate status in the International Congress of Oral Implantologists and the Associate Fellowship in the American Academy of Implant Dentistry. He is also a member of the Academy of General Dentistry.
Dr. Ferguson lectures nationally and internationally on the topics of Implant Dentistry and Bone Grafting. Dr's Katherine and Rick Ferguson founded an implant training program of their own called Implant Educators. Implant Educators has been successful in training dentists in Florida, Pennsylvania and California. Implant Educators courses have been co-sponsored with the Academy of General Dentistry in Philadelphia and California, and in Florida, with the University of Florida. Dr. Ferguson is a part time lecturer at the University of Miami Jackson Memorial General Practice Residency program. Katherine Ferguson DMD,FAGD,DICOI
Dr. Katherine Ferguson graduated from the University of Florida Dental School in 1993. She completed a general practice residency at Prince George's Hospital in Maryland. Dr. Ferguson has the distinction of being awarded Diplomat status in the International Congress of Oral Implantologists, a fellow of the American Academy of Implant Dentistry, and a Fellow in the Academy of General Dentistry. She also holds memberships in the American Academy of Implant Dentistry, the Organization for Safety and Asepsis Procedures, the American Dental Association, the Florida Dental Association, Academy of Osteointegration, American Academy of Periodontology, International Association for Orthodontics, Dental Organization for Continuing Sedation Education, and the United Stated Dental Institute.
Dr's Katherine and Rick Ferguson founded an implant training program of their own called Implant Educators. Implant Educators has been successful in training dentists in Florida, Pennsylvania and California Implant Educators courses have been co-sponsored with the Academy of General Dentistry in Philadelphia and California, and in Florida, with the University of Florida. Xiaoqian Xu DDS, FAGD, FICOI
Meet Dr. Xu, general dentist with dedication, perseverance, and excellence .
Dr. Xu's journey to dentistry is an inspiring testament to her hard work, resilience, and unwavering commitment to lifelong learning and growth. Born and raised in China, Dr. Xu holds Bachelor's degrees in Science from Michigan State University and Beijing Forestry University. Her diverse academic background includes enriching experiences in genetics and landscape design. She spent countless nights in a genetics lab replicating DNA and bacteria, and similarly tireless hours in a landscape design studio, illuminating her resilience and passion for learning.
Despite this broad array of experiences, it wasn't until later in her life that she discovered her true calling. While pregnant, Dr. Xu made the profound decision to strive towards a profession that her child would be proud of. This led her to the esteemed University of Detroit Mercy, School of Dentistry, where she obtained her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree. The journey wasn't easy. Balancing the demanding role of a dentist, while raising two children, was indeed challenging. But Dr. Xu's belief in herself was unfaltering, and her tenacity saw her through.
Described by many as a perfectionist, Dr. Xu's meticulous approach to her work makes her a standout dentist. She may not be the fastest, but she steadfastly upholds the highest standards of excellence in her practice. She treats every patient as she would her own family, taking the time to understand their individual needs and ensuring that their best interests are at the heart of every treatment plan she crafts.
Dr. Xu's quiet demeanor belies a deep-seated compassion and patience, qualities that endear her to her patients and make their visits to Florida Smiles Dental a reassuring and comfortable experience.
Away from the dentist's chair, Dr. Xu is an artist at heart. She loves painting and crafting by hand, interests that reflect her eye for detail and her appreciation for the beauty in everyday life. She is also an avid gardener, a passion that traces back to her days in the landscape design studio.
Dr. Lily Xu is more than a dentist; she's a devoted mother, a lifelong learner, and a relentless pursuer of excellence. Her journey serves as an inspiring reminder that it's never too late to follow your dreams, and that with hard work, perseverance, and belief in oneself, anything is possible.
